So it’s the end of the week of Easter 7. Are you still celebrating Easter? After all, today is your last chance before the season of Pentecost begins. Probably not, huh.

I understand. It’s hard to keep our eyes on easter, even for seven weeks, let alone for a whole year. Yet we hear the phrase, “we’re an Easter people.” The question is- will we live it out. Go ahead and read through 1 Cor. 15.

Did you do it? At least glance through it a little.

Do you start to sense Paul’s grounding for his entire life? It’s the Easter experience. It’s resurrection. And not just some fuzzy spiritual stuff, but real, physical resurrection. “Where O death is your victory? Where, oh death is your sting?” That’s powerful, even today, on the last day of the Easter season. It should have the power to stick with us all year long. Think about it- where do you see death today? Where do you see things breaking down, hurting, dying? That can all be transformed. And even today, we can start to be part of that transformation process as we live out being Easter people. Take up that challenge today.

Almighty Father, let the love we have celebrated in this Easter season be put into practice in our daily lives. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
