ambrosial: extremely pleasing to the senses, divine (as related to the gods) or delicious (n: ambrosia)

With my favorite coffee shop, Dunn Bros., abruptly closed, I found myself drawn to Starbucks’ siren sounds.

Last Monday, I asked you all to suggest a new place for me to experience the ambrosial delight of freshly ground and professionally brewed coffee. While I appreciated all the suggestions, I took BJ’s advice, “does it get any better then Starbucks?“. If you know BJ as I do, you know that you should take his advice – but only when it comes to basketball, how to survive in a house full of girls, or what type of Seattle based coffee shop to frequent.

So I went to Starbucks. And it was good. Ambrosial, even.

I’ve had burnt coffee Starbucks coffee before & have always been dissatisfied. With lowered expectations & a working knowledge of the menu lingo, I walked up to the counter and ordered a grande Komodo Dragon – black (the only way to taste coffee) and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I got it again the next day – and it was good again. No trace of the burnt, bitter initial taste that typified past Starbucks coffee. Instead a nice full bodied cup with traces of different flavors lining every sip.

I’m really excited that I gave Starbucks a second chance.

What’s something you’ve been happy you gave a second chance?

BJ – I owe you coffee @ Starbucks. You better hit me up for it before my giftcard runs out…
