8th Grade Question of the Week
By John | August 11, 2008
One of my favorite things about bringing our church’s 8th graders up to Camp Luther is the 3rd learning session we have with them. In the morning, after breakfast, but before kayaking and challenge courses, the kids get a chance to write down any question they have about faith, the Church, Jesus, or anything at all. Then in the evening, after swimming, angleball, and discgolf, we regroup at the 3rd learning session. I then get to be “Pastor John, the Answer Man”.
The kids wrote out their questions this morning-here’s a sampling:
1. “I love Jesus”
2. “I would like church better if we had the big screen up all the time during sermons”
3. “I think my faith is good. I think my whole family has a good faith”
****remember the instructions - to write a question? They follow instructions about as well as 8th graders…oh wait..****
4. “Why is church boring?”
And the one I’d like for you to help me out on:
5. “I sometimes feel like I’m slipping away from God. How should I stay close to him?”
What should I tell the kids tonight when I answer this question? Share with me some of your amazing wisdom!

Answer for #4–because your in 8th grade.
#5–your doing it by being here at Luther camp and hanging out with Christian friends, learning more about Him. Are you closer to some of your friends, the more you know about them?
