    DNC Did you know?

    By John | August 26, 2008

Did you hear who gave the closing prayer for the DNC last night?  None other than Don Miller.  We just saw him at the Echo Conference where he captivated each one of us with his humor and thought-provoking use of story.

Check out the full text of the prayer here:  the video is below.

Did you know that he wasn’t the first choice to give the benediction? Cameron Strang, editor of Relevant Magazine was. Read about why he accepted the invitation, then declined it, then referred the organizers to Don Miller here.

It’s interesting how the Democrats are really trying to get the ‘Christian’ vote this year (like Christians weren’t part of the Democratic party anyway…)

I hope that he prayed (silently, at least) that the Democratic Party would repent and abandon its support of the destruction of the most defenseless human beings. The 2008 draft platform reads: “The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.” (Notice they even support funding abortions from taxpayers who may object to the practice.) I’m all for expanding our focus to other important issues. But when you can’t even get the Big One right - the right to life - your entire outlook is skewed. It’s like putting on cracked glasses: it’s going to affect the way you see everything else. As long as “they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them,” the Democratic Party will (and should) continue to be avoided by thoughtful Christians.

Darin nothing else to say here. McCain/Palin will make great leaders for our Country. Palin is strong in supporting the right to life and has compassion for special needs children. With more and more special needs children in the United States it would be nice to see someone who cares in the White House help these people out.
