A quick post this morning as I’m on my way to the Men’s Spiritual Retreat. It spurred my thinking last night and I’ll be throwing in some bonus posts this week related to the various topics we’ve been hitting- things like pesonality type and how that affects our spirituality, what it is to walk together in community, faith, trst, and much more.
Today, just a thought based on the beginning of the discussion last night- what’s it like to walk by faith and not by sight (cf John 20:27-29)? Do you sympathize with Doubting Thomas? What’s the last time you took a risk based on something you thought God was telling you to do?

Thomas gets a bad rap sometimes, but he’s one of my biblical heroes. I figure he was somewhat of an empiricist, so he’d be skeptical of new fads or movements of the spirit. He might like Reagan’s maxim, “trust, but verify.” But when he’s presented with the truth of the resurrection, he jumps in with both feet and gives his famous confession.
