This week is transfiguration Sunday and I’ve been reflecting a lot on glory this week. All the texts for this week focus around the theme. I’ll actually be preaching on the great text from 2 Kings 2:1-12 where Elijah goes up to heaven (actually in a whirlwind, not a flaming chariot, though flaming chariots are present).
What I was forced to think about this week, and what I want our community to ponder as well is this-
God is constantly giving people little sneak peeks into his glory. They come in different forms for different people at different times. What sneak peeks do we receive today? How do they equip you? Should we be jealous of the Bible characters and their sneak peeks or not?
