The time has come in the reading of the Gospel of Mark where we’ve hit the account of Jesus’ transfiguration before 3 of his disciples.  I’m finishing up a sermon on that right now that focuses on the fallacy of having to ‘know all the right answers’ (just read about Peter in Mark 8:27-9:13 !).  But at our Evergreen site we’re not going to physically read the Gospel account this week – we’re going to use this video to help the worshipers experience the Gospel.

What do you think?  Do you respond to visual art like this?  Was it meaningful to picture the mountains while reading along?

Thanks to Travis at The Work of the People for making this possible…

One Response to “The Transfiguration of Jesus”

  1. Becky says:

Yes!!!!! Visuals like this help me digest what it is I’m reading or trying to learn or even remember. Without them the words I read are just that, words most of the time.Sometimes I can visualize what I read for myself but a lot of times my mind will wander and not be able to focus on just that one thing I’m reading.(my mind wants to multi task continually) Visuals help me stay focused.
