So it’s not Mother’s Day quite yet, but as we’re starting to feel the Mother’s Day spirit come upon us (hey, if you can feel Christmas spirit, excitement for Easter, etc, why not for Mother’s Day too!).  So I thought I’d share a couple of videos.

These are some that got me to laugh a little.

First, the comedy stylings of Thor Ramsey.  If you haven’t seen this guy before, he’s very entertaining.  Here he speaks on a number of themes related to mothers.

Second, a video of a kid during Sunday school.

Finally, the Mom’s Overture.  You may have already seen it, but watch it again or at least forward it to your mom.  It’s good stuff.

These are the kind of videos that make you laugh and then think, “wait, did I do that kind of stuff to my mom too?”  Even as we laugh about ourselves as kids and our mom’s reactions, it’s a good time to remember what it means to have this kind of a gift from God.   We should thank God every day if he gave us a good mom.  I know I do.  In fact, as I write this my mom is still being mom, this time traveling all the way to TX to help with my  new son.

A mom’s love is truly sacrificial and in that way it’s a wonderful reflection of God’s love.  In fact, Scripture even uses this metaphor.  Isaiah 66:13 says, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you . . . .”

Thank God for moms and thank him even more for his love, which we sometimes experience through  mothers.
