Eight years ago- wow, that seems so long ago.  In my own life I’ve gotten married, had two children, moved five times, and so much more has also past.  At the same time, that day seems so near and so fresh in my memory as I’m sure it does for most of you.

Here’s a video that pays tribute to the events of that day.  I pick this video because I think it includes footage that is powerful, that helps us remember just how jarring that day was.  And at the same time, it pays tribute to a God what was in the midst of that day, especially with the words, “Remember, that I sent my son.”  We have a God who goes into the midst of tragedy, who works in tragedy.

That doesn’t make the pain not there anymore.  It doesn’t take away what happened that day.  It doesn’t take away the pain in your life today.  But as you reflect on the events of that momentous day, and as you think about the pain and tragedy that exists in the world today, even in your own life, remind yourself that we do have a God who knows, who understands, and who is with us.  We have a God who’s overcome all, and promises us peace.  I think we all remember that day and the feeling that we needed a peace which the world can’t give.  Let’s seek that out continuously.
